I teach Introduction to Glaciology (graduate and undergraduate), Introduction to Geophysics, the Juneau Icefield Research Program (JIRP), and Research Learning Experiences (a course for incoming freshman students) through the University of Maine. My teaching philosophy is focused on providing students with solid foundations and actual experience using the tools and methods that Earth and Climate scientists use in their careers. I also believe that education can be merged with legitimate applied or theoretical research or career-applications. I attempt to do this in my teaching, whenever possible. Below I provide some documents outlining my teaching philosophy as well as how my colleagues and I are working to continuously evolve JIRP as an exciting and relevant research and education program. Please feel free to reach out to me for further teaching or lecture material.
